This jet-black comedy follows Angela and Allison, two young women in Manhattan seeking love and happiness, but they’ll settle for rent money. They decide that chasing down reward money for a serial killer prowling the streets of NYC is the best way to avoid gainful employment. In U.S. Drag, playwright Gionfriddo exposes the culture of victimization and the media celebrity that surrounds it.

In an interview, Michael Driscoll, Artistic Director and the Director of U.S. Drag, discusses a bit of the history and mission of Alliance Rep, an Associate Member of the NJ Professional Theatre League. Michael introduces his 2012/2013 season of comedies and dramas and gives instuction on auditioning. He gives a summary of U.S Drag and introduces a brief rehearsal scene  (Interview video)

This version of Mozart’s classic, satirical, effervescent comedy is performed in English and is staged in the 1960’s during the Vietnam War and it is bursting with youthful vigor. The cast exudes high drama and flirtatious play between two young women and their prospective husbands. The cynical Don Alfonso makes a bet with his two friends, Ferrando and Guglielmo, suggesting that their fiancées, Dorabella and Fiordiligi, could easily be seduced away from their love and fidelity to their devoted suitors.

Dr. Jody Doktor is the Director and Maestro Jason Tramm is the Musical Director (and Artistic Director of the New Jersey Opera). They discuss their backgrounds and how they came together to collaborate on this 65th annual operatic production at Stony Hill. (Interview video)

In an interview, Director Jeff Fiorello discusses how this classic of the American Musical has evolved starting with its Broadway debut in 1966, the Bob Fosse movie starring Liza Minelli, through two Broadway revivals including the revisionary production with Alan Cummings in 2004. Jeff mentions the tenuous and threatening state of the late Weimar Germany era in which the play takes place and speaks how it is being staged at Chatham Playhouse. (Interview video)

He introduces a musical scene, If You Could See Her,  and explains its metaphorical reference in the context of the play. (Scene video)
